Loot Crate vs Nerd Block (Coming Soon)

Labels: , , , 0 comments

Anyone who has read my blog knows that I am currently looking for a job. Once I have a job I have a plan to sign up with Lootcrate or Nerd Block. I think I might subscribe to one month of each to compare them here on my blog.

I have yet to try either of these services however I am excited to. I have no idea if they would give out a complimentary box for me to review on here but if it is something they do offer I hope to hear from them. I know with Lootcrate you have a simple basic box each month. From what I have seen Nerd Block offers a few different boxes to choose from.  I have seen the classic box, the horror box as well as the arcade box. Each offering its own specific theme. Nerd Block also offers a child version with gender specific choices.

I am planning on comparing both of the basic boxes first. Once I have compared them I will make a choice between the two and have a monthly subscription to the better service. I know there is also a price difference LC is around $20 and NB is around $30. I hope that the products are better at nerd block for the price difference.

Keep your eyes peeled for my comparison once I am able to get my hands on them.

If you are from either of these companies and offer a free box for review purposes please contact me via email by clicking here.

I wanted to share with anyone who takes the time to read this that Origin is currently giving away a free copy of Dragon Age: Origins. At this price even if the game is bad its at minimum worth what you paid.

To get the game all you have to do is sign into Origin and go to the "On the House" game section. They are currently offering Dragon Age and Bejeweled 3 for free however this does change ever so often.

To get more information on this  and other games currently offered for free by Origin take a look at their site: Origin

Thank you again for taking the time to read this.

If you have any suggestions or comments please leave them below as well.

It has been a very difficult time for me lately so I have not been posting unfortunately. I want the blog to succeed but I also need to have a job to financially succeed as well. I have applied to lots of places, had a few interviews but nothing has panned out for me recently.

One thing that upset me was that I applied and interviewed for a job with Garmin, lets be clear I have a customer service background and I have recently received my Associates degree in accounting. I have more then enough skills for the position I applied for. During the interview one of the questions I was asked is "what did you enjoy most about your last job?" In my last job I word at home and scheduled meetings for my clients. I advised what I liked most was that I was not micromanaged and I was able to be creative in how I did my job. I was able to make relationships with the people in the offices I was calling.

At the end of the interview with the person at Garmin, he summarized the entire interview, he stated that I did NOT like being managed and that I prefer to work on my own. This was him taking everything I said out of context and twisting it while making me look bad in the process. This sort of thing should not have happened as it was extremely unprofessional in my opinion.

Something else I have learned is that an educated background is not necessarily a good thing. Before I started going to college I was able to get a job almost instantly. Now that I have a degree I am overlooked when I apply because I am over qualified. How does this make any sense? You are too smart to work here, really? In my experience many of the people I deal with in customer service need to have more education because they have no clue how to do their job.
